Annual questionnaire and affidavit when renewing the contract

The period of certification is normally one year, after which an annual (but generally less onerous) inspection and consideration for certification are again required.  The operator will provide an annual questionnaire and affidavit when renewing the contract, and before the operations are inspected.

This is a declaration of the annual production:  crops, fertilisation, etc., and an update of basic information.

In addition, all operators should immediately notify Ecocert-Afrisco WHENEVER there are major changes to farm plans or expected output.. 

The information to be provided in the annual information update will include:

•   Field maps and sketches of farm buildings

•   For locating the field for inspection

•   For supervising the rotations of single fields

•   For ensuring land is not taken out of the system

•   For determining size of production

•   For verifying that there is no contamination from outside the system

• Registration of each individual field, including field histories

• Registration of livestock, including animal history

• A description of the production system including, for instance, crop rotations, livestock management, feed and housing, use of inputs, etc

• Records of sales and purchases
