LATEST NEWS :  Afrisco certification has been accredited by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements, IFOAM, and has applied to the European Commission for 'equivalence' with the EU organic regulations so that our certified operators will be able to export to the European Union countries. 

IFOAM is the international umbrella body for organic agriculture (and we recommend that you look at their website, www.ifoam.org).  The IFOAM norms, to which our own standard has to comply, are constantly updated by the members, so it is organic farmers and certifiers and retailers and any other members who make the changes, not governments.  Almost all countries and certifiers around the world use the IFOAM norms when developing their own. 

As an IFOAM-accredited certification body, we now belong to the international "Family of Standards."  See the listing below.  

We are also accredited to the ISO 65 by  IFOAM (or rather, by its accreditation body IOAS, the International Organic Accreditation Service).  ISO 65 is the basic requirement for all certification bodies, designed to ensure impartiality, fairness and professional approach.
