Section 14:  Offences and penalties

Section 14 of the draft standards states that:

Any person who contravenes or fails to comply with the provisions of these regulations shall be guilty of an offence and upon conviction be liable to a fine or imprisonment in accordance with section 11 of the Act.

However, this does not apply in instances where AFRISCO has tightened any parts of the Act.  These are underlined. In cases where AFRISCO's clients fail to comply with AFRISCO's standards, whether these are from the national standards or from AFRISCO's underlined additions to the national standards, this shall be seen as a breach of contract with AFRISCO.
